DIY: Wood and Leather Cleaner

You can be confident using this safe cleaner for all your wood and leather furniture.
This cleaner is wonderful for both, cleaning and conditioning at the same time.

When making this cleaner, use a light olive oil, not the darker extra virgin kind, usually the least expensive will do.

It's always a good idea to use glass when using essential oils, but you can also use a plastic spray bottle for this recipe, just make sure it's made of HDPE plastic.
PET plastic is fine to use with diluted essential oils, for cleaning purposes.

Use naturally distilled white vinegar and not the cleaning white vinegar.
Cleaning white vinegar can be petroleum based and that's not something
you want to use in your home.

Since water and oil don't mix, this cleaner needs to be shaken before using. I give it a good shake before each spray. It will start to seperate in the time it takes to wipe down a table and spray the next one.

I've been using this wood and leather cleaner for 20 years and I still love it. My wood always looks moisturized and clean.

This works well with painted or stained wood, but to be extra sure, test it underneath your piece.

Wood and Leather Cleaner
8 oz. glass spray bottle
2 Tsp light olive oil
1/4 cup white vinegar
20 drops Lemon essential oil

Add the olive oil, white vinegar, and lemon essential oil to the jar.
Fill the rest of the jar with water.
Shake and spray on wood or leather surfaces. Wipe clean with a soft cloth.
This recipe is easily doubled for larger bottles.
Note: Always shake well before use.
