DIY: All Purpose Cleaner

This cleaner recipe is perfect for counters, faucets, stainless steel, appliances and general all-purpose cleaning.
It's so simple to make that once you've made it a few times you'll no longer need the recipe.

I've heard many times that people don't like the smell of the white vinegar. However, white vinegar alone is a fabulous deodorizer, and absorbs odors in the air, so don't shy away of using this recipe due to the white vinegar.
Once it's dry there is no vinegar smell left behind...I promise!

When using essential oils in non toxic cleaners always look for pure essential oils, not the chemical synthetic kind you can pick up at local retailers for primary use in diffusers.
Those oils are merely fragrances loaded with phthalates and neurotoxins, do not use these in your diy cleaning products! Actually, don't use these oils in your home at all. Look for a pure essential oil source.
If you would like information about the essential oils I use, check out this website.

This recipe can be made in a glass or HDPE plastic spray bottle. Glass is always best when using essential oils but either will work for cleaning.

If you have a larger spray bottle than 8oz, this recipe is simply 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water. Easy to make in any size bottle.

All-Purpose Spray

8oz. glass spray bottle
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup water
8-10 drops Lemon, Melaleuca (Tea Tree), or Peppermint essential oil

  • Add the vinegar, water, and essential oil to the bottle.
  • Spray on counter, faucet, sink, etc; and wipe clean with a soft cloth.
  • Make sure to shake often.
